Earth Day To-Do List
Earth Day is getting closer and you haven't found an event to join or activity to participate in. Don't worry, we've got you covered with a few places to go in search of Earth Day ideas.
The Nature Conservancy suggests three musts for Earth Day and every day:
- Make a donation - A tax-deductible monetary gift can be made through the Nature Conservancy's secure online donation form.
- Visit a preserve - A tool on the site allows you to search for Nature Conservancy preserves by state and gives info about each location, including what wildlife you'll see and the plant life that thrives there -- as well as driving directions.
- Tell your friends - Send everyone you know a nature-themed e-card, which will include a link they can follow to create a personalized nature page.
Earth Day Network is a great resource for events and activities; whether you're close enough to Washington to join Earth Day on the Hill, or just want to help pick up litter in your neighborhood. The organization has a great search feature you can use to pinpoint events closer to home.
As we mentioned last week, you can always submit your nature- or conservation-themed photographs to online contests, or view the pictures others have taken. Now you have no reason not to get involved.
