Ladies’ man with a heart of gold
George Clooney is a two-time Sexiest Man Alive recipient from People magazine and has a bad-boy style that makes him the subject of fantasies for women the world over - and that’s not even the half of what makes him likeable.
This ladies’ man is known for his charming ways and has been linked to a string of gorgeous women, but he’s also known for his determined humanitarian efforts and his relationship with another lady … Mother Earth (wow that was really lame, we apologize).
But even Clooney’s not above getting scolded for his naughty private-flight habits; TMZ.com calculated that a trip he made from Los Angeles to Tokyo, a distance of 5,500 miles that sucked back 7,000 gallons of jet fuel, could only be countered if he planned on driving his electric car really, really far.
George has stood in line with pals Matt Damon and Brad Pitt for a chance to make a difference with the ONE campaign, fighting AIDS and extreme poverty on a global scale. He has also supported Rock for Darfur, a series of concerts put on by MySpace in which money raised went to Oxfam’s Sudan Crisis Relief and Rehabilitation Fund. With his father Nick at his side, Clooney visited displaced people and refugee camps in Sudan and Chad, bringing back footage and interviews about the horrors Sudanese people have incurred at the hands of the Arab Janjaweed militia.
He’s also a strong supporter of Save Darfur, and pleaded with the U.N. Security Council to step in and find a solution for the situation in Sudan’s Darfur region, calling it the first holocaust of the 21st century.
More and more, Clooney seems to be getting into this environment thing, showing love for eco-friendly gadgets, like the Commuter Cars Tango, which gets 135 miles to a charge. He was reportedly the first to own one. In typical Clooney fashion, he then set his sights on another fast-moving beauty, more specifically the $100,000 Tesla Roadster, which runs entirely on electrical power and gets the equivalent of 150 miles to the gallon.
Showing compassion for life and the environment, when it’s clear from his looks and charm that he doesn’t need to gain popularity votes, it’s obvious why George Clooney keeps topping the hot lists.
